Dreamcatcher. Casey French. 2012. Photoshop.
As you can see I have been fairly busy the past few weeks running around like a chicken with my head cut off! Well this is for those who have been awaiting another post from me! I have been slaving away in photoshop for roughly 5 hours working on this design. Not that 5 hours is too short or too long, it is just 5 hours 😀 Anywho! Inter web world, I would like to introduce you to a little bit of my own personal design work and a part of my heritage.
I am a registered member of the Port Gamble S’Klallam tribe from Seattle Washington. I pride myself in my Native American heritage, so any chance I can tie it into a design that is great for me! I am currently working on a poster for Art Feeds as part of a course assignment! I had to pick a cause to design a poster for, and you know me (all sap) decided to pick something that was relatable. This non-profit organization is in Joplin, MO. They work with children who have gone through trauma, and they work with them by getting them to become creative through the arts! So, children, arts, and an indie themed organization! Where do I sign up? Well, joking aside, I really worked hard on this project, and trust me my hand is cramping from all the drawing I did on the Wacom Tablet!
So needless to say, this post is short sweet and to the point! A tutorial for feathers! Yes, I actually had a hard time with them, and even though I did not do the feathers exactly like they are in the tutorial doesn’t mean I don’t like them! I just wasn’t satisfied with the outcome because it wasn’t going into the theme I wanted. Sooooooo…..drum roll please! I am giving you guys the FEATHER TUTORIAL!
I highly suggest you only use this as a starting reference, have some fun and really get into what you are doing, and 5 hours later you may find that you have a gorgeous indie style feather just like mine 😀
Have a wonderful evening inter web world!
