My Tumblr QR
So, last night I was making some posters for the Cliff News to help advertise it on campus. While I was working on the poster design a friend of mine asked me if I had ever used QR barcodes before in any of my designs. I felt silly having to ask, but I didn’t know what QR barcodes were. So when he showed me an image, I immediately recalled talking about them.
After a bit of talking about the codes, and how our campus doesn’t really use them on the poster, I began the process of actually figuring out how to make these codes. It really only took me a few minutes with Google help. I found a website that was quick, easy, and you could change the color of the QR code to any HEX color. Unfortunately, our school uses Pantone colors so I had to find a conversion chart.
After I found the conversion chart, found our schools HEX colors, I made the QR codes for the Cliff News website, Twitter, and Facebook. I made sure to download and label the images so I could use them in other designs too.
After importing the images into my design (only the twitter and Facebook QR barcode) I was very happy with the way it turned out. Now mind you I am only in a rough draft of this poster, but for now I am happy. I can’t wait to see where I take this! I am very excited to revamp the Cliff News!
